Tourism Tasmania has partnered with global travel platform Adventure.com to showcase our island’s sustainable gastronomy and agritourism experiences in a new online mini-series.
The new series will follow local Tasmanian chef, Lilly Trewartha, as she sustainably travels the state in the new electric Jeep Avenger. She will visit producers and chefs from the Tasting Trail in the north west, Timbre Kitchen, Mudbar and Harvest Market in the north, Lobster Shack on the east coast, and Palawa Kipli in the south.
Tourism Tasmania has partnered with Adventure.com, alongside Spirit of Tasmania and Jeep Australia, to enable local Tasmanian chef Lilly Trewartha to document a road trip across Tasmania visiting some of the state’s best foodie experiences.
Tasmania boasts high-quality food and produce and is home to many talented chefs who are attracted to our local ingredients, so it’s no surprise that a globally renowned travel platform wants to showcase this to a worldwide audience.
Agritourism is a huge priority for travellers drawn to our state, with one quarter of our visitors coming to experience local food and produce direct from the source.
“Tasmania is known for its distinct natural environments that allows it to be a foodie paradise,” Tourism Tasmania CEO Sarah Clark said. “This partnership with Adventure.com will build awareness of Tasmania as a unique destination for agritourism, particularly amongst environmentally aware travellers who care about where their food comes from.”
The new series will feature across videos and articles from April to June 2025, reaching a domestic audience of 1.8 million.
Tourism Tasmania has also partnered with airlines and travel trade partners to drive more road trips into the island’s regions. A series of self-drive booking packages will be available for travellers to book until September 2025.
