Tourism Tasmania has partnered with Adventure.com to showcase our island’s sustainable gastronomy and agritourism experiences in a new online mini-series.
The partnership follows Tasmanian chef Lilly Trewartha's journey across the state in an electric Jeep Avenger, visiting eight sustainable chefs and producers to highlight positive impact agritourism. Her trip has been shared through Adventure.com's social media, website and e-newsletter, including mini documentaries and online articles:
- Timbre Kitchen - northern mini-documentary
- Tarkine Fresh Oysters, La Cantara Artisanal Cheese, Mount Gnomon Farm and Blue Hills Honey - North West Tasting Trail mini-documentary
- Lobster Shack and Tasman Sea Salt - east coast mini-documentary
- Palawa Kipli - southern mini-documentary and article
- Tasmania's status as a food destination - article
- Unmissable food spots - article by Lilly Trewartha
The partnership, which launched in April, is featuring 19 operators through digital content across Adventure.com's globally-renowned platforms until 25 June. This is showcasing high quality local produce worldwide, and to a domestic audience of 1.8 million. Adventure.com is also running a $6,000 travel competition, which also closes on 25 June.
Additionally, Tourism Tasmania has partnered with airlines and travel trade partners to drive more road trips into the island’s regions. A series of self-drive booking packages will be available for travellers to book until September 2025.
Agritourism is a huge priority for travellers drawn to our state, with one quarter of our visitors coming to experience local food and produce direct from the source.
“Tasmania is known for its distinct natural environments that allows it to be a foodie paradise,” Tourism Tasmania CEO Sarah Clark said. “This partnership with Adventure.com will build awareness of Tasmania as a unique destination for agritourism, particularly amongst environmentally aware travellers who care about where their food comes from.”
