What is the Off Season?
The Off Season is a campaign designed to drive visitation to Tasmania during the traditionally quieter months of May - August to support our tourism industry year-round.
For the 2026 campaign, we will continue to position Tasmania as a winter holiday destination with a difference by showcasing all the offers and experiences that are exclusive to the cooler months.
The Off Season is our invitation to ‘become a winter person’ with a holiday in Tasmania.

How the Off Season works
The Off Season is unique because of the collaboration with industry. Every special offer submitted by Tasmanian tourism operators helps strengthen our winter appeal to travellers and bring the Off Season to life.
Now in its sixth year, consistency is key to the campaign. We are staying true to our Off Season message to ensure we remain memorable, trusted, and effective in building the meaning of a winter holiday over time.
The black, white and neon look of Off Season creates a bold and distinct identity for the cooler months in Tasmania. The look and feel of the campaign ensures we stand out from other destinations, making it easy to be recognised by our audience.

Submit your Off Season offer
We are now receiving submissions for offers to be included in the 2026 Off Season campaign.
Submit your offer for inclusion on the Discover Tasmania website and app, as well as other campaign activity.
What happens next
1. Submit your offer
2. Our team will review and refine your offer
3. The updated offer text will be emailed to you for approval
4. Once approved Tourism Tasmania add the details to your ATDW profile for you.
5. Ensure your offer is visible and able to be booked on your website.
6. Stay tuned for more updates on the campaign
Please note: events can be added to ATDW at any time.
Key dates
12 December 2025: Deadline for first round of submissions. Submit by this date to be considered for inclusion in key campaign advertisements.
2 February 2026: The Off Season will go live on the Discover Tasmania website. Visitors to the website can browse offers and click through to your business to book ahead of winter. This is an opportunity to promote your business to travellers as they start planning their winter holiday.
6 March 2026: Deadline for all offer submissions.
Late March 26: Off Season campaign launches across Australia. All offers are available to be booked via Discover Tasmania website and App.
1 May 2026: Off Season period commences. Booked offers can be redeemed.
31 August 2026: Off Season period concludes.
Event organisers
Winter events and festivals will again feature throughout the Off Season activity.
If your event is scheduled to occur during the Off Season period of 1 May – 31 August, when your event details are finalised, please create an event profile in the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse.
This allows your event to be found in the What’s On and Off Season events pages on the Discover Tasmania website and app as soon as it is approved.
An event is defined as anything that relies on visitor attendance, whether free or ticketed, that is held on a set date/dates. If you are unsure about eligibility, please email us to discuss at industry@tourism.tas.gov.au
