T21 is a longstanding partnership agreement between the Tasmanian Government and industry to guide the development of Tasmania as a visitor destination. Since the original Tourism 21 agreement in 1997, successive Tasmanian governments have worked with the tourism industry through this partnership process.
The Premier's Visitor Economy Advisory Council (PVEAC), chaired by the Premier, with the Minister for Tourism Hospitality and Events, provides the strategic direction for the visitor economy.
PVEAC is supported by the T21 Steering Committee, which brings together Tasmanian Government agencies, the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania and Hospitality Tasmania to support implementation of, and accountability for, the 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy.
Regional tourism organisations provide leadership for their regional visitor economy in partnership with local councils. They work to develop industry and product and connect operators to broader resources and support.
The T21 partnership and governance structure exists to support industry operators and grow a productive visitor economy for Tasmania.
