Australia has a global perception of being an accessible destination with 81% giving a rating of 'accessible' or 'extremely accessible'. This is a strong position to build on and share experiences with more visitors. Tourism Research Australia (TRA) has published a report with key insights to help tourism providers better understand travellers with accessible needs.

There are three main topics in the report:

  • Size and value of Australia's accessible travel industry
  • Overview of accessible tourism
  • Travellers with accessible needs: how they travel

These insights have been drawn from data obtained from Tourism Research Australia's National Visitor Survey (NVS) and International Visitor Survey (IVS) for the 2024 calendar year.
