New vessels, new opportunities

Visitors can now book for the new Spirit of Tasmania IV and Spirit of Tasmania V, selecting from new ticket types for family, accessible, deluxe and pet friendly cabins.

The additional tickets for Tasmania's next generation Spirit of Tasmania vessels will unlock greater access to the state and create new opportunities for travellers.

Alongside the new cabin options, the vessels feature enhanced facilities, entertainment options and hospitality offerings with a focus on Tasmanian produce and makers.

Vehicle lanes also feature increased length and height, making it easier for travellers to bring cars, caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers.

Tasmania is one of Australia's great self-drive destinations. Our compact size and diverse regional areas enable the flexibility to explore beyond city and town centres and discover hidden gems right across the island.

We’ve developed the ‘Tasmania Concierge’, a trip planning tool available on board the ships to help passengers plan their self drive itinerary. Tasmania Concierge touch screens allow travellers to book directly with Tasmanian tourism operators and send their itinerary to their phone, all before driving off the ship.

Importantly, visitors arriving on the Spirits stay longer, spend more and travel further throughout the state, delivering benefits to tourism operators, hospitality businesses and regional communities right across Tasmania.

Spirit of Tasmania IV and Spirit of Tasmania V commence passenger sailings on 31 October 2026. Tickets are available to book through the Spirit of Tasmania website.
