Hobart listed as a key trending destination by Expedia Group

We are very excited that Hobart has been revealed as a key trending destination in the global travel trends report from Expedia Group. 

Searches for Hobart travel options have increased by 25 per cent across Expedia Group’s platforms prompting Hobart to be named as one of the top ten global ‘Destinations of the Year’ for 2026.

Hobart is the only Australian city to make the ‘Destinations of the Year’ top ten list. Others featured in the list include Big Sky in Montana USA, Okinawa in Japan, Sardinia in Italy, Phu Quoc in Vietnam and Ucluelet in Canada, amongst others.

This follows the announcement earlier this week that Tasmania made the list of ‘Best Islands in the World’ in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2025.
