Inspired to sell Tasmania

 

Tasmania took centre stage in London recently at a special event for Tourism Tasmania’s key distribution partners. Twenty-four of the UK’s top travel product managers gathered at Spring, Somerset House for an evening that showcased why Tasmania belongs front and centre in the UK market.

The event has already paid dividends. Our UK Market Manager, Deb Pearce has received numerous bookings for additional Tasmania training sessions, and feedback from partners to say they are committed and inspired to sell more of Tassie and increase Tassie product in their Australian itineraries. 

From Forty Spotted Tasmanian gin cocktails and House of Arras sparkling on arrival, through to Josef Chromy Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at the table, every glass told a story. Mistress of Wine Sam Caporn MW brought each wine to life with insights about the destination that would inspire guests to consider travel to Tasmania, while Spring’s Head Chef drew a direct line from every dish back to the Tasmanian story behind it.

Deb Pearce also delivered a destination update that clearly resonated, sharing a personal account of her first visit to Tasmania alongside a compelling picture of what the island offers today’s traveller. Tourism Tasmania’s UK PR agency, Havas Red rounded out the programme with an overview of recent UK media momentum. The energy in the room was excellent, conversations flowed well into the evening, and the feedback was excellent.
