Tourism Tasmania operates and manages the Discover Tasmania channels on Facebook, YouTube and X, and the Tasmania channels on Instagram and TikTok (referred to collectively as the ‘Discover Tasmania social media channels’). These platforms serve as a community for individuals who plan to visit, have previously visited, or harbour a deep affection for Tasmanian holidays. Our channels offer comprehensive information, travel tips, and a gallery of images and videos that encapsulate the Tasmanian experience. We strive to facilitate meaningful interactions and the exchange of experiences among our audience.

Disclaimer of responsibility and endorsement

Tourism Tasmania does not endorse or assume responsibility for the comments, posts, or tags made by users on the Discover Tasmania social media channels. Public interactions on these platforms should not be considered representative of the views or opinions of Tourism Tasmania or the Tasmanian Government. Further, we do not validate or confirm the accuracy of user-generated content.

We advocate for the freedom of expression and promote open, honest, and respectful conversations. However, we implore all users to engage responsibly and courteously.

Community guidelines and user conduct

We uphold the right to moderate our channels and may remove content or ban users who violate our guidelines. The following types of content may be subject to removal:

• Content that includes violent, obscene, profane, hateful, derogatory, illegal or racist comments, links, or images, or incites such behaviour
• Content that threatens or defames any person or organisation
• Unsolicited advertisements, solicitations, or endorsements of any financial or commercial organisations
• Multiple successive off-topic posts by a single user
• Repetitive or duplicated posts by one or multiple users
• Content that is offensive, inaccurate, false, misleading or deceptive
• Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of a third party
• Any other content or comments deemed inappropriate at the sole discretion of Tourism Tasmania

Non-compliance with these guidelines may result in the user being banned from the Discover Tasmania social media channels. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a respectful and productive online community.
