Thematic Interpretation Workshops

Introduction to Thematic Interpretation (TORE) Workshop
One-day workshop introducing the concept of Thematic Interpretation.

The workshop aims to provide participants with the overview of the basic principals of Thematic Interpretation by applying Professor Sam Ham's 'EROT model'. During the workshop, participants will develop their own themes and at the end of the day leave with an understanding of how to apply Thematic Interpretation principles and the relevance of Thematic Interpretation to their workplace.

What one participant had to say about the workshop:

'I found the day thought provoking and a great chance to link up with other like-minded business people. We are in the early phases of our business set up and things like Sam's workshop are great to hear to get the ideas moving. We are excited about the potential Tasmania offers.'

Workshop locations vary between Hobart and Launceston. See below for scheduled workshops for 2007 - please contact Robyn.Geason@tourism.tas.gov.au or Tel : 6230 8360 to register your interest and receive a registration form. The cost for the one day workshop is $60.00

Advanced Thematic Interpretation (TIM) Workshop
Two-day workshop designed for practitioners of Thematic Interpretation and consultants who wish to understand Thematic Interpretation at a more in depth level building on the knowledge gained at the introductory level.

Participants attending the TIM workshop must have previously attended a TORE workshop. It is anticipated participants in this advanced workshop will commit to continue sharing their knowledge gained with others, not already exposed to Thematic Interpretation.

TIM members meet regularly to discuss and explore issues related to Thematic Interpretation. Limited numbers for this workshop.

'. I really enjoyed the workshop. Sam and Betty are unreal, and it is a relief to know that some of my hunches about things are on the right track - now I know a little bit about what to do. It was great to meet people from all sorts of backgrounds and I have made some very handy future contacts, I am sure.'

'Thank you, Tourism Tasmania, for providing the staff from the Female Factory with the opportunity to be inspired, challenged and provoked into action by experts in Strategic Interpretive Planning such as Sam and Anna. For a small emerging organisation this experience is invaluable'.
