Tas e-Connect is open to any distributors who wish to distribute Tasmanian tourism products. A distributor is a consumer-facing business that provides content and/or a pathway for consumers to make a product booking.

Tas e-Connect gives distributors access to a greater depth and breadth of Tasmanian product with bookability.

Tas e-Connect uses open booking exchange technology to give you – as a distributor – and your consumers the ability to search and book Tasmania online and in real time.

You can take part in the open booking exchange as a distributor or a supplier, or both. This provides an opportunity to have consumer-facing bookability and also to supply Tasmanian product to other online distributors.

Features of the open booking exchange

Some of the features of the open boking exchange include:

• More opportunities to sell Tasmanian product
• Consumers are guided from 'look' to 'book' in a seamless process
• Gives you access to all types of tourism businesses: accommodation, tours, attractions and events
• Lets you set individual commission rates and Terms and Conditions, which can be opted into online
• Provides you with access to a greater number of Tasmanian suppliers and access to their inventory directly when there is availability.
• It substantially reduces back of house costs relating to accounting for transactions – disbursement of payments etc.

To help operators get connected Tourism Tasmania is providing:

• Dedicated partnership team within Tourism Tasmania to facilitate the technical integration into your system/s
• Dedicated product support to assist you in distributing the most appropriate Tasmanian products for your business
• Dedicated marketing support to assist in drawing consumers to your distributing channel/s and growing your Tasmanian sales
• Dedicated contact centre to assist with any destination information, itinerary planning and general information for support.

Accessing the Open Booking Exchange

Tourism Tasmania invites distributors to  access the open booking exchange and become part of Tas e-Connect.

Accessing the open booking exchange  involves a technical integration process undertaken by V3, Tourism Tasmania’s contracted technology provider.Tourism Tasmania will work with you as a potential  distributor to initiate this service.

There are many levels and options to how  you access the open booking exchange and how you present this functionality to  your consumers.
