State of the Industry 2010 Report

The State of the Industry 2010 Report is published by Tourism Research Australia. The report is an outcome of the implementation of the National Long-Term Tourism Strategy and is the first of an annual series of State of the Industry publications that will assess the current performance of the tourism industry and highlight longer-term issues affecting its performance.

The report includes a summary of the priorities for the industry based upon the analysis contained in the report.

The report aims to:

• provide a reference document linking the latest research and statistics on tourism demand and supply to assist industry and Governments to make better informed investment, policy and marketing decisions
• show how the tourism industry is positioned within the Australian economy
• highlight current and potential future trends to assist industry to align demand with future long-term tourism investment.
