Short Breaks Market Profile
The Short Breaks market (defined as 1-3 nights away, but essentially
a short holiday of up to four or five days away) remains an important
market for Tourism Tasmania, due to a number of factors:
- Changed travel patterns. The introduction of low cost
airlines, and economic and social factors, mean that people are
taking less domestic holidays, for shorter periods.
- Short Breaks is a growing market in terms of share of all domestic
holidays.
- Short Break visitors are high yield visitors - they spend
more per person, per night than other leisure visitors.
- Short Break visitors have a high propensity for repeat visitation
- providing an opportunity to attract them to different regions
of the State.
To provide a better understanding of this important market, we
have prepared a detailed Short Breaks Market Profile.
