THREE - New Trends in Global Travel, July 2008 [PDF 212KB]

Tourism Tasmania recently undertook research to identify trends around the globe that will impact on travel. This report presents the outcomes of the research and considers its implications for Tasmanian tourism and industry operators.

TWO - Opportunities in the International Market, Nov 2007 [PDF 104KB]

Examines opportunities for growth in our overseas markets. The international market currently represents about 14 per cent of our overall business. Tourism Tasmania believes that at the current rate of growth, the international visitor market could be accounting for as much as 20 per cent of all visitors to our State in just five years. Put in context, more than five million international visitors came to Australia last financial year. Our share was around 157,000 people, or just three per cent. However, we actually grew our numbers by nine percent on the previous financial year.
Can you afford not to share in a piece of this growth? It’s time to ask yourself ‘am I ready for this? If not, what do I need to do to get ready’?

ONE - Shining the Light on Customer Perceptions, Sep 2007 [PDF 227KB]

Sets out the top-line results of the recent Perceptions Research Study commissioned by Tourism Tasmania. Our goal is to understand how existing and potential customers see Tasmania and how likely they are to visit us in the near future. It’s important to note that this is the first time a study such as this has included the views of Tasmanians in the consideration of holidays within their own State.
