Organisation - Business UnitsInfrastructure and Industry DevelopmentTasmania's tourism industry has been growing rapidly and for this to continue, and for the industry to meet the Tourism 21 goals (Tourism 21 is the joint tourism industry-Government strategic business plan), ongoing development of the products and experiences is critical. All tourism initiatives need insights into consumer and industry trends, and information to ensure they are best able to meet future demand. Their priority is to strategically support the development of experiential tourism products and services that will help build our competitive advantage, attract visitors to the State, and exceed visitor expectations. The main focus areas are industry development, business and product development and destination development. The unit has two strategic elements: Insights and Destination Development, and Infrastructure and Investment.
