Tourism Australia’s new global campaign will use the power of the people, including local residents of Tasmania to invite visitors to Australia from overseas. Get involved and win a prize.
Tourism Australia’s There’s nothing like Australia campaign offers Australians the opportunity to tell the world what’s unique and special about this country. From 15 April to 12 May 2010, all Australians are being encouraged to upload photographs and stories of their favourite holiday destination to the campaign website, www.nothinglikeaustralia.com .
“This campaign presents the ideal opportunity for us all to rally friends, neighbours, colleagues, customers, students, residents – in fact, everyone we know – to promote Tasmania as an amazing holiday destination,” said Felicia Mariani, Chief Executive Officer for Tourism Tasmania.
“People often say we’ve got some of the ‘best kept secrets’ in Tasmania, so whether it’s your favourite beach, mountain, walk, heritage location, or other tourism experience, now is the time to shout about it and show not just other Australians, but the world what we have to offer.
“Not only are there prizes to be won, but importantly, Tourism Australia will choose a number of the best entries and use these in online and print advertising globally. If we all rally behind this campaign to upload entries that showcase the best that our State has to offer tourists, we will truly put Tasmania on the world map,” said Ms Mariani.
Tourism Australia will use entries to create a new interactive map of Australia, made up of all the things Australians think are special about their country. It will be searchable by experience type, location, and by 1,000 keywords. The map will be housed on www.australia.com, which attracts more than a million unique visitors each month, and also at www.nothinglikeaustralia.com.
Entrants will also be eligible to win prizes. A winner will be chosen from each state and territory to win an Australian holiday valued at $5,000. An overall winner will then be selected to win the ultimate Australian holiday valued at $25,000.
