The Australian Government has extended its Enterprise Connect scheme into the national tourism sector.
Enterprise Connect is run by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research with the backing of industry and offers business advice and support to eligible small and medium-sized businesses.
The scheme runs a network of 12 centres across Australia that work with businesses in industries as diverse as manufacturing, clean technology, resources, defense, the creative sector and now tourism.
Enterprise Connect provides tourism businesses with access to tailored, independent business advice, advisory service funding, workshops, market intelligence and valuable industry contacts and connections.
A National Tourism Industry Network will be established within Enterprise Connect to coordinate services and direct support to growing the competitiveness of the tourism sector. This builds on Enterprise Connect’s Queensland Tourism Service (QTS), established in May 2011 to assist flood and cyclone-affected Queensland tourism businesses.
