Keep a close eye out for Tasmania in the special four-part series of The Oprah Winfrey Show when she shares her Ultimate Australian Adventure with millions of audience viewers and online fans.
The shows air in the US this Tuesday – Friday, and in Australia this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 7.30pm on Network TEN. With an estimated TV audience of 40 million viewers in the US each week, this sort of exposure is hard to beat.
Oprah's Ultimate Australian Adventure saw Winfrey and over 300 of her studio audience visit Australia to film the series at the Sydney Opera House and various locations around Australia.
By pitching to Tourism Australia and Ms Winfrey’s production company, Tourism Tasmania secured a visit to the state by six audience members. Joined along the way by Gayle King, the six toured Tasmania with a production crew to shoot segments for inclusion in the series. Tourism Tasmania would like to thank all those operators and the many others who contributed to making the Tasmanian tour such a great success.
The six, who are members of Ms Winfrey’s audience are great ambassadors for the state.
Tourism Australia, will also further encourage visitation to Australia with the launch of a special page on Australia.com after the first show, featuring the audience itineraries and an option to contact an Aussie Specialists as well as links to the Great Aussie Sale. As well, all operators that hosted audience will be highlighted on oprah.com with a link back to their own website. Ms Winfrey’s official website – www.oprah.com receives more than 7 million visitors a month.
