Signature Experience Pilot Development Program to strengthen Tasmanian Brand

The Premier and Acting Minister for Economic Development and Tourism, David Bartlett today announced a new pilot program aimed at supporting Tasmanian tourism operators in the development of unrivalled visitor experiences.

“The Signature Experience Pilot Development Program is an initiative of Tourism Tasmania. It has been designed to help tourism operators further develop their unique Tasmanian experiences and consistently meet or exceed visitor expectations,” said Mr Bartlett.”

“Tasmania currently delivers a number of significant ‘signature experiences’, and these experiences influence visitors to choose Tasmania, contribute positively to the local economy and provide a model for sustainable development of our tourism industry.”

“This program aims to build on this reputation by supporting a group of operators to develop experiences which excite visitors to Tasmania, fits with our unique Brand, and showcases the very best Tasmania has to offer.”

The Signature Experience Pilot Development Program is designed to provide individually tailored and group development opportunities over a 12-month period.

Operators are being invited to register their interest in joining the program, which will provide a comprehensive suite of developmental opportunities including:

  • Enhanced Access to Tourism Tasmania resources
  • Mentoring
  • Networking and Partnership Opportunities
  • Study/Lecture Tours Interstate
  • Business Support
  • Tourism Award Support
  • Research and Business Intelligence.

“The Signature Experience Pilot Development Program complements recent Tourism Tasmania initiatives such as the Startpoint and Building Visitor Experience web sites,” said Mr Bartlett.

“Together these initiatives will help Tasmania’s tourism industry in consolidating and growing the State’s reputation as a leading provider of quality tourism experiences.”
