TASMANIA MAGAZINE HITS NATIONAL NEWSSTANDS
Tasmania took Australian newsstands by force yesterday when 1.3 million copies of a dedicated holiday magazine were distributed in the State’s major visitor markets.
The Minister for Tourism, Arts and the Environment, Paula Wriedt, said the second edition of the Tasmania Magazine was delivered as an insert in News Limited newspapers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
“The magazine was first produced in February this year, and was used as the cornerstone of Tourism Tasmania’s interstate autumn advertising campaign,” Ms Wriedt said.
“It proved so popular that Tourism Tasmania, in conjunction with News Limited, produced a second edition of the 32-page Tasmania Magazine.
“This edition coincides with spring and highlights Tasmania’s amazing experiences through both words and pictures.”
“And it signals the start of Tourism Tasmania’s spring marketing campaign, which includes television, print and billboard advertising during October and November.”
“The release date was selected to coincide with one of News Limited’s highest selling periods of the year,” Ms Wriedt said.
“This week heralds the build up to the AFL and NRL grand final matches, ensuring maximum distribution of the magazine”
Ms Wriedt said this edition includes feature stories by key personalities, articles on Tasmania’s history and heritage, fly fishing, Flinders Island and Launceston, and many other snippets of information to entice people to visit Tasmania.
