TASMANIA STILL HIGH ON ELTON JOHN TOUR AGENDA
Elton John fans in Tasmania are being urged to keep up their support, with word from promoters that the State is firming up as a concert destination for the international superstar.
Minister for Tourism, Arts and the Environment, Paula Wriedt, said concert promoters Chugg Entertainment have announced that Townsville has successfully secured Elton John’s sixth Australian concert.
“Townsville and other North Queenslanders got behind the voting process and triumphed with a concert,” Ms Wriedt said.
“Chugg Entertainment has already acknowledged that Tasmania has already surpassed Townsville’s vote in signatures, so we are confident of positive consideration.
“It’s now more important than ever that Tasmanians speak up by registering their encouragement and enthusiasm for a Tasmanian concert.”
Tasmanians are being urged to log on to the special Elton John section of Tourism Tasmania’s website discovertasmania.com and those who register online will automatically go on to a pre-sale list for ticket offers before they are available to the general public.
“An Elton John tour to Tasmania is dependent upon the level of support we can generate, so get online quickly to register your vote,” Ms Wriedt said. For further information contact Tourism Tasmania's
