Event Partnerships

Tourism Tasmania promotes events that have the capacity to increase visits to Tasmania and that promote Tasmania as a culturally vibrant destination.

Developing partnerships with events organisers is critical to this process.

Tourism Tasmania works with events partners to create shared marketing strategies and activities including promotional campaigns, shared databases, introductions to third party partners, consumer competitions and product packaging.

By sharing resources and networks with event partners, Tourism Tasmania can achieve greater value for money in growing visitation to the state. Working with events partners also enables Tourism Tasmania to more effectively target marketing campaigns to specific markets and sectors.

Tourism Tasmania identifies events appropriate for partnering through four grants rounds:

  • National Championship Grant assists organisations, clubs & associations who secure a national championship for Tasmania.
  • Touring Grant encourages national and international car and motorcycle clubs as well as cycling touring groups to host their next event in Tasmania.
  • Special Interest Grant aims to encourage and assist clubs, associations and organisations (including sporting, cultural, recreational, and special interest groups) with a common interest to stage their next event in Tasmania.
  • Tasmanian Regional Event Development (TRED) Grants support the sustainability of regional festivals and events through one-off grants for special projects that fall outside the scope of the ongoing activities of the events. There will be ten grants available, with two grants in each of the five Tourism Tasmania marketing Zones.
