Tas e-Connect is the name we use for everything associated with doing tourism business online. This includes listing your business online, transacting a booking online, selling your products across a wide range of online travel sites, and marketing your business online.

These days, most customers are online. They are searching for information about travel destinations and tourism experiences online. Many are looking for the convenience of booking their holiday online and receiving instant confirmation. We need to make it as easy as possible for them to do this.

Tas e-Connect uses open booking exchange technology to give operators access to as many online distributors as they choose to connect their tourism products and experiences to consumers around the world.

  • Lets you select as many online distribution channels as you like (for example the AOT Group, About-Australia.com, and Discovertasmania.com)
  • Allows consumers to see real time availability and book and purchase your product instantly via those distributor websites you’ve selected
  • Saves you time and helps you to make informed decisions to support your business.

Accessing the Open Booking Exchange

To access the open booking exchange your tourism business must be 'e-commerce enabled'. This means that you can commit the real-time availability of your products and allow a consumer to make an instant booking transaction online.

The next step is to link your tourism products to the open booking exchange via an approriate front-of-house booking system.
